Important Information for the Week
Carr Family Fire
One of our Ganaraska families - the Carr's - experienced a tragedy this past Friday with an extremely serious house fire. They are currently residing with family, and we would like to help them out to get their feet back on the ground. From now until Friday, we will be accepting cash and gift card donations in the office - with many thanks. We will then pass along your generosity to the Carr Family.
Hot Lunch help....when paying by cheque
We would greatly appreciate your help if you pay by cheque for hot lunches, etc. If you could please include your child's name in the "memo" section, it would make the deposit process much easier at the school level. Your support is greatly appreciated!
School Council
Monday night is our monthly School Council meeting. We will be forming and getting many exciting sub-committees underway for upcoming events and fundraisers. We will also be reviewing our math School Improvement Plan and experiencing some math tasks .... just like your children. We'd love to see you there!
Holiday Concert
Our revised date for the Grade 1 - 6 Holiday Concert has now been set. Please save the date for Wednesday, December 5th. The Concert will take place at Port Hope High School from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. More information about the Kindergarten Holiday Celebration will be shared in upcoming Peeks at the Week!
Trips and Volunteers
Please remember that in order to attend a class trip you must have a current and valid police record check on file with us. If you haven't yet got one, we'd be happy to supply you with the letter to take to the Police Station. Please be aware that we are required to have specific adult/child ratios on both the bus and at the destination. Therefore, when volunteering we do need to have you on the bus as well as at the location for safety reasons. If you have any questions, please let Mrs. Sampson know!
Spirit Socks
Order forms for our Ganaraska Spirit Socks came home last Monday. At only $12 a pair, they are a steal! All orders need to be in by this Friday, November 16th. No late orders will be accepted as we are wanting to ensure delivery before the Christmas Holidays!
Annual Donation Drive
We considered calling this the "You don't have to buy any magazines or muffin batter" Drive..... but this seemed too wordy! Here's the scoop in basic language:
Every cent donated = Great school experiences for your child, thanks to School Council!!!!
We don't want you to sell. We don't want you to buy. We don't want to support companies who make a living off of school fundraising. If every family donated $20 per child at the school we'd be close to making our fundraising goals. Please help us provide great arts, physical education and school spirit experiences for Ganaraska Trail! Tax receipts will be provided for all donations at or greater than $25.00.
