Enfield Head Start, Integrated Pre-K, PK STEAM Academy

Greeting SELC PK Families,
SELC is certainly unique in that we house many different programs under one roof, but despite the differences, we can all agree that we are ONE community. With permission from his family, I want to share some information about one of our Head Start students and ask that we come together as a community to show support for our friend, Liam.
Liam was born with congenital heart disease. He had surgery at one week old to repair valve and aorta defects. More recently, doctors discovered an unexpected growth on one of his valves that will require him to have heart surgery. He will have his pre-surgery visit on March 2nd and his surgery is scheduled for March 6th.
To show our support, SELC will be brave for Liam by wearing BLUE on March 2nd and March 6th. Blue is his favorite color! Thank you for keeping Liam in your thoughts over the next few weeks!
In continued celebration of Black History Month, many of our Eaglets will get to know Amanda Gorman next week. Amanda is a writer and the first-ever National Youth Poet Laureate! Amanda struggled with speech delays and turned to poetry as a way to overcome challenges and make a difference in the world. See the links below for more from Amanda!
Reminder:
- If you have any changes to your emergency contacts, please let us know!
TO CLARIFY: IF YOUR CHILD ATTENDS HEAD START OR INTEGRATED AND THEY WILL BE WITH US AGAIN NEXT YEAR DUE TO THEIR AGE, YOU DO NOT NEED TO RE-APPLY!!! ADDITIONALLY, IF YOUR CHILD IS GOING TO KINDERGARTEN YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER THEM AS THEY ARE ALREADY ENROLLED IN EPS!
