Trombly Terriers Taking Care of Business
November 13, 2018
Thank you for a Great Terrier Trot!
Once again, I am overwhelmed with the support the Trombly community has shown for our little school. With a population of only 246 students, our PTO has exceeded its ultimate fundraising goal of $25,000. That is over $100 per student. On behalf of the entire school, we thank you and very much appreciate your ongoing support.
I look forward to spending the night on the roof and greeting our Terriers from the Trombly rooftop.

Students and Sleep
We have noticed an increase of tiredness among our students. There have been students falling asleep in our clinic; children displaying sluggishness in the classroom and finally, students telling staff their late bedtimes. Students aren’t at their peak for learning when they are tired.
The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests the following sleep guidelines:
Children 3 to 5 years of age should sleep 10 to 13 hours per 24 hours (including naps) on a regular basis to promote optimal health.
Children 6 to 12 years of age should sleep 9 to 12 hours per 24 hours on a regular basis to promote optimal health.
Adequate sleep on a regular basis leads to improved attention, behavior, learning, memory, mental and physical health.

Winter Weather
WInter has arrived! We have had temperatures in the 30s and a dusting of snow. It is a great time to remind families of our winter weather clothing expectations.
We would like each child to wear a winter coat, hat and gloves. We are outside for recess normally two times a day. Being dressed appropriately makes that time more enjoyable. If snow blankets our playground, we ask each child wear boots. If a student wishes to play in the snow, we add snow pants as a requirement. We do not want a child to be sitting in class after recess with wet socks and wet pants.
If your child is in need of winter gear, we do have some items that have been donated to our school. We would be more than happy to share.
