WMS Community Bulletin 12-18-19
EXCELLENCE*EQUITY*COMMUNITY
Watertown Middle School 2019-2020
Happy December! Messy weather we have been having! I hope everyone is staying warm and avoiding the ice!
We enjoyed two excellent performance music concerts here last week - one for all of the students during the school day and one Thursday evening. Congratulations to all of the performers as well as the teachers - the music was terrific! I love hearing the improvement from year to year!
Congratulations also to our Geography Bee finalists! We had the preliminaries last Friday, and the run-off this past Tuesday. The 10 finalists are : Grade 6: Caleb Hardy; Grade 7: Andrew Airasian, Gabe Berkowitz, Rose Cohen, Izzy Delorio, Cammy Farrar, and Ollie Maillis; Grade 8: Noah Affany, Chris Devaney, and Mason Poillucci. They will compete to be the WMS Geography Bee champion on Friday morning!
For Drop Off / Pick Up - Please be sure and use the Bemis Street entrance (NOT Waverly) before 8:30 am. The buses and vans use the Waverly entrance until 8:30 am and it is a safety issue to also have cars use that entrance.
I hope everyone has a fantastic winter break with time for relaxing and rejuvenation. We look forward to seeing all again in 2020 to get back to the work of learning! :)

Two Reminders from Student Council!
- For Coats for Kids, please remind your 7th and 8th graders to ask three new people for coats, any family or friends that they will see over the holidays. The deadline is Thursday, January 2nd.
- For plastic recycling, families can turn in plastic film and bags, especially after opening their holiday gifts. We are collecting plastic until April.
