The characteristics of living things and organic compounds.
Characteristics of Living Things
What are the characteristics of living things? They are cells, energy, homeostasis, interdependence, heredity, and evolution. All living things are made of these characteristics. So the six charateristics of living things are:1.Basic unit of life are cells.2.Homeostasis-constant internal environment. Reacting to your environment.3.Heredity are passed on traits.4. Interdependence depending on others for survival.5.Evolution is change over time.6.Energy for survival and growth. These are some examples of characteristics of living things.
Organic compounds contain carbon. Orgnaic compounds are carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids.Carbohydrates are the main source of energy.Proteins form bones and muscles.Nucleic acids store and transmit genetic information. There are two types DNA and RNA.Lipids a.k.a. fats saturated fats and unsaturated fats.
