The Riverwalk Roar
November 24, 2019
Note from Dr. Compton
Pride,
I cannot believe that it is already Thanksgiving week. The first part of the school year has gone by quickly. I'm looking forward to getting the spend a few extra days with my family this week and hopefully, it will not feel as fast as these past few months have felt.
As we head into Thanksgiving week, it's a good reminder to stop and to reflect on our blessings. I wanted to take a few minutes to share with you things that we (Riverwalk Academy) are thankful for.
Staff
We are grateful for all the wonderful teachers, assistants, secretaries, nurses, coaches, support staff, interns, coordinators, counselors, Lions' Den staff, and administrators who care about student success and have the best interests of our students in essence. We see dedicated and hard-working individuals going above and beyond to make sure that great things happen in our school. Our team make a difference, and our students benefit from those efforts.
Students
We are grateful for our students. They are our why and they are our most valuable resource. They are the reason we do what we do. We are blessed to have a school filled with an eclectic mix of personalities, gifts, and talents. We realize that within our 540+ students are tomorrow's doctors, artists, leaders, teachers, accountants, and servicemen and women. We are blessed to get the opportunity to teach them. We are grateful for our incredible students who inspire us to be better every day. Students, you are our inspiration!
Families
We are grateful for the support of the parents who are working to ensure that we have an excellent school community for our students. We are also thankful that our parents have kept the trust and confidence in us. Our parents continue to leave their most valuable ones with us. We have parents who work hard and advocate to be a partner in their children’s education, safety, and well-being. For this, we will always be so thankful. We are also grateful for our volunteers who enthusiastically provide so much to our school.
Pride, let's have a great week and I sincerely would like to wish all of our Pride a healthy, relaxing and happy Thanksgiving break!
Sincerely,
~Dr. Compton
