BEN Bolt News
February Edition
Principal's Corner
Dear Ben Franklin Bolt Community:
It is hard to believe marking period two has come to an end and half of this very unique and challenging school year has been completed. While this has been a school year never seen before,it is our hope that all of you are feeling positive about the development of your student’s academic and social emotional growth. As we move forward into the third marking period, it will continue to be our goal to develop our students to be lifelong learners who have competence and strength of character, while realizing their aspirations as they thoughtfully contribute to a diverse and ever changing world in a hybrid, remote or in-person learning environment.
During the past few months,I hope you have found ways to support each other socially and emotionally at home, during organized whole group instruction, small group and breakout rooms. That you are spending time playing board games, recreational reading, sharing family memories by looking at pictures, photo albums or just simply telling stories. I hope you have found the time to play outside getting crisp fresh air and enjoying the beautiful sunny days this winter has offered us.
It was also a pleasure to see many of you and your children as you came into school from Kindergarten and grades one and two to obtain your new Ipad and Touch Screen Chromebook. It was a pleasure to provide you with these new devices along with your new Be a Bolt Clipboard ,backpack and books from our wonderful and supportive PTA. Hope everyone is getting a chance to use these new items and you are reading your new books.(Enjoy)
During the month of February we have exciting changes and events that will allow students to continue growing academically and socially. Hopefully, we will return to Hybrid learning starting March 1 and students will be back in our hallways and classrooms with the buzz of in-person learning. We can only hope this will continue for the rest of the year as we make it back into the setting we are accustomed too. We will focus on celebrating Black History Month as we continue to promote culture into our very diverse community. It is Children’s Dental Health month and we look forward to honoring our School Counselor, Ms. Kole as it is School Counselor appreciation day February 7.Congratulations Ms. Kole and thanks for all your support and help you provide to our families.
As we start the third marking period, please know we will continue to keep you updated on any changes through open lines of communication. Please continue to check the School and District websites and your personal email for updated information. We encourage you to contact us with any suggestions or ideas as we would love to hear your input with the hopes you will get involved and become active participants to create the partnership that is needed to further OUR success for our students and the community.
Wishing our entire Ben Franklin Bolt Community the best! Please be well, healthy and safe. Continue to find and make the time to smile, laugh and breath., Remember to Be a Bolt and Let your Lightning Shine!!
