Wanted for.....

Oxygen is one of the most common elements on earth. We breath it in everysingle day, without oxygen we wouldn't be able to survive, and not just us everysingle living thing. We can find oxygen almost everywhere water, air.. We need oxygen!! It helps us with everything. How do you think the world would be without oxygen? Would we even be able to live in it?

Oxygen Information!

You probably are thinking that there is nothing important to know about oxygen but you are wrong. Oxygen is a nonmetal. Oxygen has 8 protons and 8 neutrons, and it's automic number is 8. Do you know what color is oxygen? At first i thought light blue, but oxygen is colerless, like air. Oxygen is a gas, that its automic mass is 15.9994. Oxygen doesn't have a lot of different names for it, but some of them are dephlogisticated air, and nitroarial spirit. Now you know the basic information about oxygen, so lets move on.

First arresting officer..

An English man named Joseph Priestly discovered oxygen in 1744. Priestly was involved in politics, religion, and of course science. Priestly was studying chemistry for a long time. He had a brother named Timothy Priestly. Joseph Priestly answered lots of different questions. Priestly died on February 6, 1804.

Report of oxygen's first arrest.

Oxygen was discovered when Joseph Priestly noticed the effect of oxygen on combustion using a burning len and a candel. Priestly also found the new biological rule of oxygen, by placing a mouse in a jar of oxygen and waiting for how long it will survive.

Oxygen forms mixtures/compounds with:

  • Hydrogen
  • Lithium
  • Arsenic
  • Sodium
  • Potassium

Oxygen does not react with it self, nitrogen or water under normal conditions. But Oxygen does dissolve in water at 20 degrees celcius. Oxygen does not normally react with bases or acids. If oxygen reacts with Alkaline metals it can cause them to become oxidized. A chemical reaction equation of Hydrogen and Oxygen which makes water is

H2 + O2H2O.

WARNING!!

Oxygen is a highely reactive element on its pure form. It can combine with most other elements.
