Kudos to 2nd grade parents for ensuring your children participated in the CogAT given in January. We had a great turnout from both face to face and virtual students!!!
Tutorials
Tutorials are starting this month! Please reach out to your child's teacher for their specific day and time.
Face to Face Learners
Please read through these reminders for all face to face students:
- Parents must self-assess all students daily. If your child is experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or is lab--confirmed for COVID-19, please call the District Student Reporting Line at 832-386-1091. We want to keep everyone at school healthy and COVID-19 free, so please help us by not sending your child to school sick or with symptoms.
- Students are NOT required to wear a standardized dress code or uniform. All attire must follow the GPISD Student Handbook guidelines.
- All students are required to wear a mask or face covering. Please make sure your child has a mask upon arrival.
- Students may bring a clear or mesh backpack to school.
- Bring your Chromebooks and chargers each day. Please make sure they are charged at home.
- Students should bring a water bottle with them. Please label it with your child's name. Water fountains/water dispensers are currently closed. Considering sending an extra bottle water on PE days.
- No outside food deliveries or eating with students will be allowed this year.
- Classrooms are sanitized daily by teachers and the custodial team. In addition, deep cleaning has been happening on weekends throughout the district.
Virtual/Distance Learners
- Make sure you participate in any middle of the year assessments such as I-ready, I-station, Learning A-Z, unit test, etc.
- Stay in communication with your teachers regarding any schedule changes.
- Participate everyday online and with asynchronous assignments to be counted present.
- If you are absent, please let us know. We still need excuse notes within 3 days.
- Be sure to self-assess at home and contact the district hotline should there be any concerns.
Character Education Theme
The character education theme for the month of February is responsibility. Please discuss this character trait at home with your child.
