Mrs. Noynaert's Kindergarten Class

Week of September 22, 2014

This Week in Room 508

First, I want to thank you for sharing your child with me. I am blown away by how much they have learned in just four short weeks, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for our class family in the next few months!

Readers' Workshop:

This week we are going to focus on building our reading stamina. Right now we are working on staying engaged and reading independently for 3-4 minutes at a time. By the end of the week, we are going to be reading independently for 5-6 minutes. We are also going to introduce partner reading this week.

Writers' Workshop:

We are going to continue visualizing our stories before we write them. We are also going to focus on staying on one topic when we write, which is harder than it sounds. The stories I read this last week truly amazed me, and I cannot wait to share them with you during our parent-teacher conferences next month!

Math Workshop:

New math stations will be introduced this week. Some of them will focus on writing numerals 0-5, while others will focus on fluency.
