Managing Difficult Wastes

Difficult waste is a broad term (not a legal definition) applied to waste such as hazardous and medical waste.

Management of difficult waste can be challenging to say the least. This is because of the nature of the waste and the special requirements for health and safety, compliance with waste regulations, manual handling, segregation, storage, containment and transportation issues. Managing difficult waste also requires appropriate waste management training for staff.
