Rocket Family Update - Week of September 27 - October 1
Weekly Note from Mrs. Clement
September 26, 2021
Dear Rocket Families,
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend! What a difference a week makes with the weather!
NWEA MAP assessments will begin for all grade levels this week. MAP assessments are given in the areas of reading and math and are administered three times each year (fall, winter, and spring). These assessments assist us in monitoring the progress of students throughout the year. It is very important that students arrive to school on time EVERY day so that they have adequate time to eat breakfast and get ready for the day. This is especially true on days we have assessments. We will follow the following schedule:
Monday, September 27 - MAP Reading K-2
Tuesday, September 28 - MAP Reading 3-5
Wednesday, September 29 - MAP Math K-2
Thursday, September 30 - MAP Math 3-5
Letters have also started going out to families of students that have accumulated unexcused absences. If you receive a letter you can submit notes to excuse up to 10 absences. After 10 absences only those that have a note from doctor are excused. If you have any questions do let us know.
The end of the 1st 6 weeks grading period is Thursday. Please ensure you've been in communication with your child's teacher if you had any questions or concerns with progress reports, missing and/or late assignments.
Finally, I encourage you to layer your child's clothing as we transition between seasons. While our mornings can be rather chilly our afternoons can be rather warm!
As always, please feel free to reach out to me anytime should you have any questions, concerns and/or suggestions. I may be reached at email@example.com, by way of Class Dojo or by calling the school at (828) 287-3778.
