Bulldog Bulletin for Parents
COVID-19, Volume 3 April 17, 2020
Principal's Paragraphs
Hello Belair Bulldogs,
While our physical school building may be closed for the year, that doesn't mean you can stop Belair Bulldogs from staying connected and keeping up with our learning! Our goal through the end of the closure is for students to stay sharp with skills they have previously learned. This means reading, writing, and doing some math every day! Play board games is another learning activity that would be awesome to incorporate.
This week, all of our classroom teachers made contact with their families for an alternative style of Parent Teacher Conferences. We want 100% participation from families. Please answer phone calls, emails, or text messages from school staff.
More instructional work is being sent home each week of the closure through May 28. This might be electronically, through Google Classroom (2nd grade through 5th grade) or SeeSaw (Kindergarten and 1st grade). Additionally instructional materials/papers are being mailed home for those families who requested. You can find the instructional templates on our school website. If you did not get a packet, reach out to your classroom teacher.
Thank you for being a supportive community! We are all learning how to be home learners right now!
Check the district website for updates to the closure, academic and community resources by visiting: http://bit.ly/JCSchoolsCOVID19
Stay healthy! Stay home!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Milhollin

iReady Lessons
If your child brought home a Chromebook and they have a 1st Grade or Kindergarten sibling, the sibling can use the Chromebook for their iReady lessons too!
iReady works on iPads/iPhones or laptop/desktop computer and Chromebooks.
Your child(ren) had their usernames/passwords sent home on March 17. Misplaced their password? Contact your child's teacher by email to get it!
And YES! They can do both reading and math lessons everyday! The goal would be to spend about 30 minutes on reading and 30 minutes on math!
We will be having an iReady contest next week! Bragging rights to the grade level with the most lessons passed! Daily shout outs for the grade level and classrooms with the most lessons passed in both reading and math!
We currently have 293 students taking iReady lessons in reading and 294 students taking iReady lessons in math!
