The Arrest of the Three Blind Mice
Module 7 Lesson 1 Mastery Assignment
Hannah Brown
On a cloudy night, at the National Cheese Bank, the alarms were set off and the Mice Police Department was rushing to capture the cheese thieves. When the cops arrived, they arrested three sneaky blind mice.
However, the mice waited in jail for a very short time until their friend, Jerry the Mouse, came and posted their bail.
After their hearing with a Grand Jury, it was decided that the mice were to be charged with a larceny, a thief felony. After their indictment, each mouse was assigned to a public defender to represent them in court.
After the arraignment, the trail was set for June 19. One of the mice, Bob, wanted to Plea Bargain, but his lawyer told him that was imposable because there was none of that in the Master Cheese Criminal Court.
The Petit Jury and witnesses were summoned to the court. The three blind mice picked to subpoena Tom the Cat to help uphold their alibi. The defendants and prosecution both presented their arguments before the judge; both swore to the truth and not commit perjury.
After the jury deliberated, they delivered the verdict to the court. The mice had been acquitted of their crimes. The owner of the National Cheese Bank, was highly upset and wanted to appeal the decision.
