Classified Appreciation Week March 7-11

MGP has the MOST AMAZING classified staff in BGPS! Our classified staff members hold many jobs with various responsibilities! They supervise students at recesses, serve our lunches, restock library shelves, support small groups of students, run our office, keep our building looking amazing, support our most vulnerable learners, keep our students healthy and safe, and so on and so on and so on! This group is SOOOOOOO wonderful, we want to recognize ALL that they do for our students, staff, and school community!

Please join me in thanking each and every one for their service to our school community!

The next general meeting for our MGP PTA will be on Thursday, March 24th at 7:00 PM.

From 4th Grade

We have been learning about Native Americans in North America pre-European explorers. Students in Mr. Christel and Mr. Anderson's classes presented their research about the highest populated tribes in identified regions to other 4th grade classes. Next we will start looking at how explorers and European countries started claiming the land in North America and how this affects the Native Americans.

Art On!

We are working on some AMAZING projects all over the school! In Kindergarten, artists are creating urban landscape collages. In 1st grade, artists are using texture to create monsters inspired by the book "Love Monster"! In 2nd grade, artists have been weaving rainbows on sky looms they painted. 3rd grade has been working on 3-D animal portraits using egg cartons! And 4th graders are working on a BIG project with help from our PTA; they are painting fabrics using the Batik technique, and will be sewing them into a final project like a pillow, bag, or banner! Thank you to our AWESOME PTA for helping get supplies and for offering sewing help!

Check out these photos of some of the amazing art we have in MGP! I am so proud of these artists and their creativity. ART ON!
