ProtectMiChild Registry keeps kids safe from adult ads online
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Attorney General Dana Nessel encouraged Michigan parents to sign up for the state’s ProtectMiChild Registry in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
ProtectMiChild is a free and secure program that keeps kids safe from adult-oriented advertising via social media, text, and email. Parents can register their children’s social media handles, phone numbers, and email addresses to block inappropriate ads. Schools and organizations that work with children under 18 can also add their accounts.
WBHS Counseling & Career Center
We are so thankful for Noelle Essig, WBHS College & Career Center Counselor! She arranged a college tour at Eastern Michigan University for WBHS juniors. They learned about the admissions process, visited a residence hall room, and had lunch in the cafeteria. They also arranged to see some WB alumni too!
THIS JUST IN!
Liz Costello, Mentoring Program Coordinator and 2nd Grade Teacher at Gretchko Elementary is spearheading the New Teacher Corner. New WBSD teachers can visit the Teacher Corner to "shop" for supplies that have been donated or purchased by retiring teachers, teachers advancing through the ranks, and our school community in an effort to help with the financial burden of becoming a new teacher. Please contact Liz at elizabeth.costello@wbsd.org to coordinate a financial donation, new or used supply donation, or to simply help out.
