From The Principal's Desk
Greetings North Wales Families,
September flew by and it’s a little hard to believe we are already turning the calendar to October. I am really enjoying my new role as principal here at North Wales. I know this is because we have fantastic students, wonderful parents and an amazing staff! I am grateful that I have had the privilege to join such a great school!
Just a reminder that Monday is Fall Picture Day. Wednesday, school is closed in observance of Yom Kippur. You still have time to RSVP for Trunk or Treat. Please RSVP by Friday, October 7th.
Today is National Custodian's Day! We have a wonderful team of custodians that keep our building up and running and we would like to thank them for all that they do!
Thank you for your partnership in ensuring our student’s continual growth and development.
I am looking forward to another great week!
Warmly,
Ms. Dana Kenney
Principal

Notes From The Health Suite
By the order of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, new entrants to all the schools in the North Penn School District are required to provide proof of a physical exam, a dental exam and immunizations. Physical Examinations are also required for Kindergarten and 6th grade. Dental Examinations are required for Kindergarten and 3rd grade.
Physical Examination form dated after 8/15/21. https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/Documents/School%20Health/PHYSICAL%20EXAM%20form%202012.pdf
Dental Examination form dated after 8/15/21. https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/Documents/School%20Health/Private%20Dental%20Exam082011.pdf
If you have been contacted by the nurse regarding missing immunizations, please contact your child’s physician to see if the immunizations need to be administered. North Penn School District will be excluding students who are not fully immunized without a medical plan ( scheduled immunization appointment) or a medical/philosophical/ religious exemption on November 1. 2022.
Field trips are currently being scheduled. If your student has a medical condition that requires either daily or as needed medication to be administered during school hours, please see our medication administration policy/procedure. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cAy6kyGiawIuB1bLuUi6Y7zg6IazU1Wv/view. Please bring in either the completed medication administration form or a current action plan signed by the parent and the Dr. with the medication for the 22-23 school year. We are determining nursing needs for the upcoming field trips based on the medical conditions/ medications provided to school.
Being that this is the first day of fall, here is our annual Fall Lice Letter. No, we are not seeing these critters in school now!
If you are unable to view any of these forms, please go to the North Penn School District website, click on For Families, then Frequently used forms, and then click on Health suite to access the forms.
The completed forms can either be emailed to me at coxmm@npenn.org, faxed to 215-853-1936 (secured fax to my computer) or brought into school with your student. I would advise making a copy for your records.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you!

Cultural Highlight Of The Week
Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year in Judaism, is approaching.
The name of the holiday translates from Hebrew to English as the Day of Atonement, and Jewish people may spend the day fasting, attending synagogue or observing the holiday in other ways. Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Tuesday, Oct. 4, and ends in the evening on Wednesday, Oct. 5. It lasts one day, while Rosh Hashanah lasts two days. One of the most common Yom Kippur traditions is to fast for 25 hours, not eating or drinking from the night Yom Kippur begins into the night it ends.
Another important observance is the blowing of the shofar, or a curved ram’s horn. The shofar is sounded ceremonially to conclude Yom Kippur.
