BME Family Materials Collection
Thursday, May 21st & Friday, May 22nd, 2020
Dear Boone Meadow Families,
As the year draws to a close, we want to provide families with the opportunity to pick up any belongings that remain in the school building since our March closure. In order to successfully return items to families in a way that maintains the government safety guidance, we will be facilitating a curbside pick-up line on Thursday, May 21st and Friday, May 22nd. Please take time to carefully read the details housed in this message for curbside pick-up of materials.
PLEASE NOTE: No materials will be released to friends or others outside of the student's family. Please do not ask staff to collect belongings for students outside of your household. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you need to RETURN items:
- Library books can be returned curbside. Simply hand off to our staff, and we will get them to their proper home. (They do not need to be bagged or bundled.)
- If you need to return items to the classroom (for example, you have books from the classroom collection) please place in a ziplock bag with your child's teacher name. This will assist us in getting them to the rightful owner.
- Some have asked if they can drop off a card or thank you item to go directly to the classroom teacher or staff member. Not a problem at all! Please make sure the item is labeled and we will deliver it to the teacher.
Timeline:
- Based on the initial of your child's last time, please arrive during your designated 30-minute time slot to pick up your child's belongings.
- Adhering to this schedule as tightly as possible is greatly appreciated as it will assist with both safety and efficiency in dispersing student materials with rightful students.
Important Details & Instructions:
Please note the following important details regarding materials collection at Boone Meadow.
- Ahead of the pick-up day, teachers will pack up student materials and label them accordingly. No families will be allowed in the school building. Rather, student materials will be ready for you upon your arrival at the school during your designated times.
- Access the school campus via Eagle Church entrance during your scheduled window of time and proceed to BME (This is our standard arrival and dismissal procedure)
- Please have student last name clearly & boldly written on paper in the front window/dashboard so that staff can easily read when approaching the vehicle.
- We will have cones located on our front curb outside the main entrance. Families will pull their vehicle forward to the next available cone where they will be greeted by a Team Meadow staff member.
- Remain in your vehicle. A Boone Meadow staff member will retrieve and deliver your child's belongings to your vehicle. You can “pop the trunk” and have them place inside, or staff can hand off your items through an open window or door. Again, please remain in your cars throughout the pick-up process. This will help to increase the safety, speed, and efficiency of the pick-up line while maintaining physical distancing guidelines.
- If your child ordered a yearbook, it will be included with their personal items.
- Start gathering those library books! This is also an opportunity to drop-off any library books or other school materials that need to be returned.
Thank you for being our partners during this journey,
Mr. H
