Principal's Message
Dear Sabre families,
We hope our Sabre families had a nice Easter weekend and a chance to enjoy the spectacular weather. We know that ‘spring has sprung’ not just by the warmer air, but also by the return of our Sabre geese in and around the school.
As we embark on the final quarter of the school year, a couple of recent highlights before we shift our focus on upcoming events for the remainder of April.
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) staff and students gathered together in kindness at Salisbury to celebrate the Division’s first Candle Day. Candle Day seeks to uplift the spirit of every child. Students from across the Division reflected on the truth of residential schools—a time when children weren’t treated with love and respect. They shared their wisdom on how to ensure this never happens again. Kudos to our SAL Culinary Arts students who provided birthday cupcakes and to our SAL Band who performed throughout the ceremony.

Our final P/S/T Interviews will be held on April 19 from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and will be held in our Large Gym. Bookings will open on April 14 at 9:00 a.m., and will close on April 18 at 9:00 a.m. CLICK HERE to book your interview times.
SAL will be a busy place on April 19 as we are also hosting an Information Session for our incoming grade 10 students and families where they can further tour the school and have 1:1 access with our staff to ask questions specific to their child’s entry into high school. As we know, coming into a new building and high school comes with lots of emotions, ranging from excitement to anxiety and everything in between. It is our goal to be intentional and mindful of having all of our students comfortable starting this spring right until we start the 2023 - 2024 school year in the fall. Furthermore, for our current grade 10 and 11 students, along with students in grade 12 wishing to upgrade, please do not hesitate to reach out to us should you have questions or wish to sit down and have a conversation.
Graduation 2023 is less than two months away and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate such an amazing group of students. We will be hosting a Virtual Graduation Meeting for parents and students on April 20 at 5:30 p.m. A link to join will be emailed at a later date.
In closing, while this week starts with a bit of ‘four seasons in one day’ on Tuesday, the warmer weather will return as we make our way through the week.
Take care and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
