Seventh Grade to Catholic Charities
Seventh graders attended a training and retreat focused on serving the homeless. Students were engaged in various activities and were broken into small groups to gain a deeper understanding of the SOS program and the purpose of the day and night crews and how they serve the homeless. Students will take their experiences and exposures and inform the rest of the SMG campus with a skit to launch their donation drive in support of our homeless brothers and sisters.
Spelling Bee
Congratulations to all of our participants in the annual Spelling Bee!
Robotics Team Advances
One of our Robotics teams prepared a presentation and competed at the next level of competition and were advanced yet again! Some of the comments given to the team were "Team gets along. Competitive spirit. Thinking outside of the box. Good example of sportsmanship. For a first year team, the future is bright." Prior to attending the competition, the team presented to Mrs. Rios, made some adjustments, then presented to the Advisory Council last week. What a great way to represent SMG! Good luck at the next level meet, Trojans!
Ahoy Teachers!
Presenters Mrs. Abbott and Mrs. Belcher attended the "Teach Like a Pirate" seminar and sailed back with all their loot! The two pirates engaged the staff in a fantastic presentation on Friday that got teachers out of their seats and exhilarated to take these new techniques and apply to their classrooms! Great professional development!!
