Dear John Wetten Families,
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving Break and were able to enjoy time with family and celebrate the traditions that these holidays bring us. We are thankful here at JWE to have such a supportive and understanding community. We appreciate everything you do to support us and your student here at JWE.
During this week of conferences and report cards, I hope you are able to connect with your child's teacher to discuss the important learning, progress, and any concerns that you may have. Report cards will be sent home electronically via Parent Vue beginning this term. More information about how to access the report cards through Parent Vue will be going out today, 11/30.
In Partnership,
Michael Clutter

IMPORTANT NEWS
Scholastic Book Fair Is Coming! Nov. 29 - Dec. 2
This event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school. After missing out on many beloved traditions, our fall Book Fair will be a familiar, welcome, and safe event for our students. Here’s what you need to know about the Fair:
Please keep your eyes open for an email from your student's teacher for a link to donate classroom books.
You can create a Scholastic ewallet for your student so that they don’t need to bring money with them to school. There will be a record of your purchase at each cash register or you can print out a piece of paper with the ewallet information for your student. Click here for a video that explains the ewallet. Link to ewallet is here (available Nov 1). Students can pay with cash. Parents can purchase using a check or credit card during parent shopping hours on Wednesday and Thursday.
A book fair flyer of some of the books at the fair will go home with students before the fair.
If you have any questions please contact Kim Burke at burkek@gladstone.k12.or.us
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Have you signed up for your Parent/Teacher Conference time? This year conferences will be:
Thursday, Dec. 2nd (12p - 8p)
Friday, Dec 3rd (8a - 4p)
Your child’s teacher should have provided you with a special classroom "Entry Code" for you to sign up for a conference time. If you have not received the special classroom code from your child’s teacher please reach out to them through email. Teacher emails can be found here and all email addresses end with @gladstone.k12.or.us. We will be using the PTC Fast conference scheduling website again this year. You can access this website at www.ptcfast.com/reg1 and enter the "Entry Code" the teacher has provided.
If you have any questions please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.
Parent/Teacher Conference Zoom Links
All Parent/Teacher Conferences will be virtual this year using the Zoom platform. Please find below the Zoom link to join your parent/teacher conference during your scheduled time. You may be directed to a "waiting room" when you first enter the conference so please be patient until the teacher finishes the previous conference and lets you in for your conference.

PFO News
PFO Mission:
*Fundraising and Funds Disbursement
We raise money each fall through a Move-A-Thon. Those funds are then used for field trips, school supplies, classroom technology, grade level curriculum and other student centered programs or items requested by the school. All fund requests are voter approved through the PFO email loop.
*Student Enrichment Events, Programs, and Activities
*Building School-Wide Community
There are no monthly meetings to attend. (Unless you have joined a committee, there might be 1-2 throughout the year. These will be via zoom.) No monthly meetings allows our members to get involved when it is most convenient for them. Choose the things they want to be involved in, and it gives EVERYBODY a voice when we vote on issues and funding requests. For those wanting to be involved beyond the email loop we are looking for members for our various committees.
To join the e-mail loop, write to JWEPFO@gmail.com and request to be added.

FREE Covid Vaccines @ GHS
Get a free COVID-19 vaccine at Gladstone High
Since June, Gladstone High School has hosted five free COVID-19 vaccine clinics, providing 429 vaccines to students, school employees, and local residents. We are proud to be part of this effort to protect people across our community.
We are fortunate to have several partners lending support and expertise at these events, including Clackamas County Public Health, Providence Health Services, and the Gladstone Fire Department. They provided vaccines, nurses, paramedic support, and interpreters to ensure a safe and efficient experience for each person served.
In November, we expect authorization of vaccines for children ages 5 to 11. In addition, COVID-19 boosters have now been approved for Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson recipients.
To meet your needs, we are planning four more vaccine clinics at Gladstone High between now and winter break:
Gladstone’s clinics are on these Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gladstone High School, 18800 Portland Avenue. [athletic entrance.] A Spanish interpreter will be provided.
- December 1
- December 8
According to Clackamas County Public Health, vaccination is the best way to avoid severe illness, hospitalization, and death.
Parents and teens with questions about COVID-19 vaccines are invited to watch last week’s presentation and Q&A with County Health Officer Dr. Sarah Present: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcI82orQ5wQ
Each vaccine we provide brings Gladstone closer to life as usual and helps us keep students in school. Thank you for everything you do to protect yourself and others from getting COVID-19.
