Happy Holidays!
Freshmen and Sophomores: What Should I Be Doing Now?
-Review your PSAT scores. You spent an entire morning taking the PSAT, but it only really helps you if you take the time to carefully review your answers in order to do better next year. Scores not up to par? Consider practicing on Khan Academy. A free SAT resource where you can track your progress. Students practicing 20 hours on Khan Academy were able to raise their scores on average 115 points!
-2nd quarter is halfway over! If you are having trouble in a class, don't wait till the end of the quarter for help. Talk with your teacher or get some help at an after-school help session (see below for dates and times available).
-Post-secondary planning – Choose a place where you will keep information related to your life after high school. In this folder or box, keep things to remind you of your accomplishments: copies of your service learning forms, any awards or certificates you are given, a list of activities in which you’ve participated, etc. When it’s time to write a resume’, this information will be helpful.
-Activities – If you have not yet participated in any after school activities, please consider trying a club during the second semester. Below is a list of clubs and activities here at PHHS.
