Riley Hospital for Children
SEL Re-Entry Resources from the Creative Arts Therapy Team
The Riley Creative Arts Therapy team is comprised of therapists in three disciplines; Art Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, and Music Therapy. Each modality utilizes its featured form of creative art expression in the context of a therapeutic relationship as intervention for hospitalized children, their siblings, their caregivers, and their self-identified family. These clinicians also serve as a resource to their healthcare colleagues as members of a broad interdisciplinary healthcare team focused on generating an individualized plan of care for each patient during the healthcare experience. Goal areas include physical, physiological, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects of wellness and ultimately strive to decrease distress and maximize potential for holistic health and resiliency.
Please join members of the Riley Children’s Health Creative Arts Therapy Team for a live panel presentation designed to answer questions related to 2020-2021 Indiana School Re-Entry. From the perspective of their scope of practice with children and teens in the healthcare setting, they will share resources and suggestions for educators on how to incorporate music, art, dance, and movement into the educational and home environments to support children, teens, families, and educators during this transition into the new school year during the COVID pandemic.
