Weekly Announcements & Updates
*Are you a leader? LEE HS SGA (Student Government Association) Leadership Team & Class Officer applications are due THIS Friday, August 19! Please pick up an application outside of the counselor offices or the library. See Mr. Holder with any questions.
*Flag Football Practice will start Monday 4:00- 6:00 on the soccer field. Anyone interested in playing please come out or see Coach Harris room 181!
*Any students interested in playing soccer should see Coach Matzkind in room 126 or go to the soccer field Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15-5:15. You can also email him at kurtis.matzkind@hsv-k12.org.
*Pictured below are the games that are part of the Fall Major for Esports this year. If anyone is interested in joining the Lee Esports Team, they can message Mr. Rominske on Schoology or come by his room during 3rd block or after the final bell.
*Any students interested in running for 2022 Homecoming Court should apply at this link ASAP! Pease see Ms. Pippin with any questions.
*If you are driving and parking at school, you must purchase a parking decal. See the bookkeeper to purchase your decal. Cars without a decal after August 25 will be towed. Decals are $20. Cash, check or money orders are accepted.
*Beta Club Induction Ceremony will be THIS Tuesday, August 16 @ 5:30 pm in the theatre. ALL Betas - old, new and ones who were inducted during the pandemic are invited to attend. Family & friends are also invited. The ceremony will last approximately one hour.
*Paint Your Parking Spot for Seniors will be THIS Wednesday after school. You must pay the bookkeeper $30 (for decal and spot) before you can pick and paint your spot. You must provide your own supplies. Supervision (and art teacher advice) will be available on Wednesday, August 17.
*Track & Field Team tryouts will be August 22nd, 23rd, and 24th from 4:00-5:30pm each day in the small gym. Please come all 3 days!
*NACEE is having a Back-to-School Kickoff for Parents and Students on Saturday, August 27th. Click here for the NACEE application and see the flyer below for more info!
Shout-Outs
- Shout-out to our Freshmen Students of the Week! Rakiyah Blake comes to us from Chapman Middle School. She plans to join the Girls Basketball team here at Lee. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and drawing. She is a middle child and has an older brother named Jamale Blake who is a senior here at Lee. After graduating from Lee, she plans to go to college and study to become a veterinarian. Benjamin Mason also came to us from Chapman Middle School. He participates in JROTC. In his free time, he enjoys reading books and solving puzzles. He is an excellent cook and wants to go to college to become either a doctor or a lawyer after graduating from Lee. Congratulations to both of them for representing our #FamiLEE values so well!
- Shout out to Lee High School Football, Band, Auxiliary, and Cheerleaders for representing the #FamiLEE very well at Tuscaloosa County High School’s Jamboree Game last Thursday!

- Welcome to all of our new magnet students across all grade levels! We are so excited to have you in our #FamiLEE! Also, welcome back to all of our returning students!
Upcoming Events
We will be having a Theatre Booster Parent meeting THIS Thursday, August 18th, at 6PM in the Black Box Theater. We encourage all parents and students interested in participating with Lee High Theatre this year to join us! Please enter through the theater Lobby.
There will be a Performing Arts Picnic for theatre students before the Booster meeting on Thursday starting at 4PM in Mr. Carters room (341). We ask that students provide the following: Freshmen- drinks, Sophomores- chips/snacks, Juniors/Seniors- desserts. Can't wait to see you all there!
*The Lee High School Choir will be performing the National Anthem on August 31st at the Rocket City Trash Pandas game at 7:00pm! All faculty, staff, students, and families are invited. Tickets are $17.
