ALL SCHOOL Winter Concert Monday, December 19th at 10am & 2pm
We are so excited that our all-school winter concert is approaching! Students have been working hard practicing with music teacher, Robin Ryan. The Washington chorus and all grade levels K-5 will sing winter songs for you!
Students are in class when they are not performing.
Please notify your child's teacher if you do not want your child to participate in the winter concert 12/19 and/or the holiday sing-a-long and party on 12/20.

5Essentials Parent Survey
From now through January 16, school staff, parents, and students in grades 6-12 across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate one snapshot of data about your child’s school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.
The Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey gathers data related to five indicators:
Effective Leaders
Collaborative Teachers
Involved Families
Supportive Environments
Ambitious Instruction
5Essentials Reports will be generated for schools if their teachers and/or students meet the response rate threshold of 50 percent. These reports will be sent to schools and districts in March 2017 and will also be included in the State School Report Card.
Since we have chosen to provide the optional 5Essentials parent survey, if at least 20 percent of each school’s parents complete this survey, a supplemental parent report will also be generated. The parent data will not be reported on the State Report Card.
Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
You can take the 5Essentials Parent Survey by clicking the below link.

WatchDOGS do not have to commit to an ongoing schedule; they can volunteer as little as one half-day a school year. WatchDOGS help out with whole class activities and also one-to-one or small group reading and math practice. Students also love playing with WatchDOGS during recess!

Please Help Keep our Students Safe
There have been several unsafe situations with cars in the parking lot during bus loading/unloading. It is also unsafe to direct your child to run across Bridle Lane or across the parking lot. Please adhere to our procedures and to the direction given by our staff supervisors; we are trying to act in best interest of all of our students.
