Miss Vaughn's Class

Week of October 12-16

Hello Families! Thank you all for participating in your child's student led conferences! They worked so hard preparing and they all did awesome!!!

Reading- We will learning all about making text to self, text to text, and text to world connections this week in Reader's Workshop. We will also be learning a new song to go with this concept! Have your child sing it to you at home!!

Math- We will be starting our study of Part, Part, Total diagrams this week to help our fluency with addition strategies to solve number stories!

Writing- We will be stating our study of adding "drama" to our stories to make them more interesting to read! And we will be perfecting our editing skills!

Science/Social Studies- We are starting a new unit in science focusing on Weather! In Social Studies we are going to begin our study of economics with Needs and Wants.

Leader in ME!- We are all helping out the school and our classrooms with our leadership roles. Ask your child how they help the school!

Trunk or Treat is coming up soon!! Friday October 23rd we will have so many fun things here at Null for you and your child!! MySci Science Van will be here for Science Experiments, Great Clips will be here to decorate hair, and lots of us will be here to hand out candy/treats!!! If you would like to participate and hand out treats or host a game at your vehicle please let me know or Mrs. Rachael Leibner know. Her contact info is: rleibner@stcharlessd.org

We are also looking for a volunteer to paint faces at Trunk or Treat. If you would be this person or know someone who would be great contact Mrs. Rachel Leibner too!!!

October 30- Halloween Party @ Null 10:45-11:45
