Message from the Principal

The past year has been challenging in many ways. From the pandemic to protests to politics, it has been unprecedented.

This Monday is a national holiday in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday. It is a great day to reflect on the history of our country (the good, the bad and the ugly). Dr. King's optimism is as inspiring today as was when he was alive. At the same time, it is disheartening that we have not come farther. Recently, we seem to have increasing division, anger, racism and hatred. We still have huge gaps in equity and access between groups, and the gaps seem to be widening.

As Dr. King said in 1963, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Let us make 2021 a year of positive change. Let us shrink the gaps. Let us serve others. Let us be empathic. Let us come together.

Classified Employee of the Year

LISA SINDERMANN

Lisa Sindermann started this year with the RVHS team. During her time here she has made an enormous impact. She has been part of the district for about 6 years. She and her husband have two daughters in college and a son in middle school. Additionally, they have 3 dogs that are loved as much as any of the children. Lisa replaces a woman who had held the position for 13 years.

Mrs. Sindermann hit the ground running, and she does it with grace, poise and a fantastic personality. She greets everybody with a smile no matter what her day has been like, she is friendly, sincere, cordial and ALWAYS willing to help. She is tech savvy and models a growth mindset as she is not afraid to try or learn new things.

Lisa remembers birthdays and special occasions and loves to celebrate the successes of other teammates and colleagues. Visitors to the school are greeted by a warm, loving environment created by Lisa. She has been a “Rock Star” and we don’t know what we would do without her. Thank you Lisa for your commitment to excellence and your uncanny ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. You are the Classified Employee of the Year.
