CIS Weekly Update
#7: October 4-8
PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
We only have three days of school this week. This short week concludes with conferences on Thursday, October 7 from 11:30-7:00pm. Our conferences are a blend of in person and virtual conferences. Other conference evenings will include: November 4 (8:10-3:40) and February 1 (4:30-8:00). Thank you for your time to join us on conference days/nights so we can talk about your child's progress. We appreciate your involvement.
The first quarter is coming to an end on Friday, October 15. We remind students to pay attention to Progress Book to make sure all of their assignments have been turned in and recorded accurately. You can log in to Progress Book here. If you have any questions regarding grades/assignments then please reach out to your child's teachers.
Dr. Hill recently announced some changes to the quarantine procedures from the Medina County Health Department. These changes may be helpful in keeping healthy students in school when they are a close contact. There is more information below. If you have any questions then please reach out.
Have a GREAT week!!

PICTURE RETAKE DAY OCTOBER 20TH
CAVANAUGH PHOTOGRAPHY - OCTOBER 20TH RETAKE DAY
1) If your student was absent on the first picture day (Sept 14), there will be an ordering site available so you can order online. (You can enter your district site here: i.e. wadsworth.cavanaughphoto.com) Or, if you placed an order before the first picture day and didn’t realize your child would be absent, it will be honored.
2) If your student wants a retake, you must bring back the original picture packet that was ordered. Or, if you only ordered a hi-res digital file, please send a note in with your student stating that a hi-res digital file was purchased. If the packet or note is not returned, a new package will not be printed until the original is turned in. Original photos will be coming home before retake day.
3) If your student wants a retake AND you did not order the first time and do not plan on ordering in the future, then all YEARBOOK ONLY retakes are $5.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach us at 440-973-4390 or info@cavanaughphoto.com
COVID-19 & ILLNESS AT CIS - CHANGES MADE OCTOBER 1
Effective October 1, the following change will be made to the quarantine guidelines followed by schools in Medina County (the rest of the flow chart remains unchanged):
If a student meets the criteria of a close contact from exposure in a school setting and the student is not fully vaccinated or was not wearing a face covering during the period of exposure, the student will be permitted to stay in school if the student wears a face covering during the quarantine period (provided the student continues to be symptom free). This change only impacts the ability of a student to attend school, it does not apply to extracurricular activities or other situations that are not school-related.

CIS Counselors - PARENT NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Mrs. Rohrbach (our 5th grade School Counselor) and I develop our programming each year based on the needs of our students. We use a Needs Assessment that we give to our parents and families and also our students and teachers. This information helps us create classroom lessons, groups and programming that meet specific needs.
If you are willing, please complete the Google Form in the link below. It should take just 5-7 minutes. Also, at the bottom is information regarding Groups that we offer at CIS. If you would like your student to join a group, you can indicate this in the survey or send us an email. Thank you!
