Tabar Talks
Greetings and salutations, it is time for the Pre-Catholic Schools’ Week edition of “Tabar Talks”. As we continue to hold off any real winter weather to this point, we embark on our busiest week of the year. During this busy week we celebrate the great people, pieces, and parts that comprise Catholic Schools throughout the entire nation. Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, January 26 – February 1. Corpus Christi Academy will observe the annual celebration week with Mass, Open House and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, “The Academy” focuses on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.
Please reference the included schedule for Catholic Schools Week to receive explanations, invitations, and events so that you may plan ahead. We also want to reach out to our school and parish communities to visit us, join us, and aid us during this very busy week. We would like to invite you to visit during our School Open House on Sunday January 26th from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Lastly, we would like to invite you to join us for a “Supper Bowl” of pasta as our Eighth graders raise money for their Washington, D.C. field trip. The pasta Dinner is Sunday February 2nd from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, please consider enjoying some amazing food for dine-in or carryout, your patronage is truly appreciated.
We would also like to recognize that the Vatican has announced Bishop Nelson J. Perez will be the new Metropolitan Archbishop of Philadelphia. Please keep him in your prayers and let us also pray for our Diocese as a new bishop for Cleveland is discerned.

activities for students, families, parishioners and community members to celebrate and
congratulate. Below is our schedule of celebrations during Catholic Schools Week.

Catholic schools benefit all year long from the religious guidance, prayers and support parishes provide. Many parishes join the National Catholic Schools Week celebration by devoting a Mass to Catholic education.

Final Weeks: Shoe Collection Drive
The American Heritage Girls are in the final weeks for their Bi-Annual Shoe Drive. We are still short of our goal of 2,500 pairs of shoes. If you haven't clean out your closets yet, there is still time. We are looking for gently used shoes - any type (boots, sandals, kids or adults). The shoes will be distributed to those less fortunate in third world countries. They will use the shoes to create micro-enterprises. Thus extending the life cycle of unused shoes in your closet to help someone else earn a living. What a wonderful way to start the New Year by helping others.
The Donation Box is in the Back of the Church and by the Saint Clare statue. Any questions, please call Christy Raynor at (440) 684-0549. Thank you and God Bless!
