From the Principal...Kristy McKnight

Next week is Kindness Week! Your child should have come home today with a flyer that included information on how Ferson is getting involved in Random Acts of Kindness. If you didn't see the flyer, I've included it below. We are encouraging students to complete small acts of kindness, including giving compliments, opening doors, and offering to help, throughout the week. On Monday, we are asking students to wear orange as we try to "Paint Ferson" orange to show our commitment to kindness.

During Kindness Week, the Random Acts Matter organization has a variety of ways that your families can get involved if you choose to do so. You can view their website, calendar of events and sign up to volunteer to support their mission of spreading kindness in our community.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all who participated in our Penny Wars this week! While we don't have a total yet, the excitement shared by the students during the collection was impressive. I will be sure to share the winning class next week.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Kristy McKnight

Upcoming Non-Attendance Days

Schools will be closed on Monday, February 17th for Presidents’ Day. Due to a Teacher Institute Day, Friday, February 28th is a non-attendance day for students.

Middle School Transfer Requests

Middle School Transfer requests may may be submitted February 3 through February 28. Families must complete a separate form for each student. Requests are granted based on space available so siblings are not guaranteed placement. A written decision will be communicated to families before spring break.

Once the request is approved, a student may remain at that middle school throughout his or her middle school career, as long as the student resides in District 303.

Families of students granted permission to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance are responsible for their own transportation.

Students will return to their assigned attendance area high school regardless of the middle school attended.
