LCE PTO Newsletter

May 2016

Dear LCE families,

I cannot believe it is almost the end of the school year – wow how time has flown by! Now if the weather would only cooperate…

June also marks the end of my time on the LCE PTO Executive Board. For the past three years I have had the privilege to serve as president of the board and as vice-president prior. Many hours, laughs and some tears have accompanied me on my journey but most importantly I have gained incredible memories and friendships – with other parents, teachers and students. I have been teased many times for my desire to volunteer, but I believe it is better to give than to receive, to lead by example and utimately our kids are really worth the time and heart we give. While recruiting new parents for PTO, I have often said – volunteer while your kids want you to be involved! Thank you to my children for still feeling that way!

Thank you to the many who have shared in my journey. Thank you (big time) to my family - Ted, Connor and Callie - who inadvertently served with me. I want to also thank the other PTO board members for all of their dedication and friendships. Although we will all continue to be on the general board, our PTO bylaws allow officers to serve only 3 years consecutively. I have been blessed to serve the past three years with Stephanie Norg (Vice President) and Tony Pallo (Treasurer). LCE is so lucky to have you both. Tony, thank you for handling all the financial aspects! Steph, I could not have asked for a better partner in crime in this adventure. Thank you for everything!

Gandhi was spot on when he said “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. Thank you, Lake Center for helping this Southern transplant find her home.

Always,

Julia
