Mercury
Mercury is a terrestrial planet. it has a diameter of 800 miles, 1,300 km. It's only slightly larger than our moon and has less atmospheres so it's easier for things in space to hit it. It takes 59 earth days for it to be one day on Mercury, and 88 earth days for a year. Lastly, it has no moons and no rings.
Venus
Venus is also a terrestrial. It has a diameter of 3,959 miles, 6,371 km. It's hotter than Mercury even though it's the second closest to the sun. It takes 243 Earth days for one day on Venus and 225 days for a year. It has no moons nor rings.
Mars
Mars is a terrestrial planet. It has a diameter of 4,212 miles, 6,779 km. It has lost atmospheres and water over the years and the believe that it could have been a planet to live on at one point in time. it takes 687 earth days for it to be one year on mars and a little over a earth day for one day on Mars. It has 2 moons and no rings.
Jupiter
Jupiter is the Gaseous planet. It has a diameter of 86,881 miles, 139,822 km. It's the biggest planet we have! It takes 10 hours for one day on Jupiter and 12 Earth days for a year. Jupiter has 50 moons and has rings.
Saturn
Saturn is a Gaseous planet. It's has a diameter of 3,000 miles, 4,800 km. This planets rings are the ones you can actually see. It's 10.7 hours for a day and 29 days for a year. It has 53 moons and yes it has rings.
Uranus
It is a gaseous planet. It has a diameter of 31,518 miles, 50,724 km. Earth is considered a nickel and Uranus is considered a baseball in size. it takes 17 hours for a day and 84 earth days for one year. It has 27 moons and has rings.
Neptune
Neptune is a gaseous planet. It has a diameter of 30,599 miles, 49,244 km. Neptune has 6 rings. It takes 16 hours for a day and 165 earth days for a year on Neptune. It has 13 moons and has rings.
Asteroid
An Asteroid is chunks of rock o muddy ice balls. It is 20 feet, 6 meters, in diameter for the smallest, and 590 miles, 950 km, for the largest ever known. The asteroids live in the Asteroid belt.
Meteoroid
A meteoroid is a chunk of rock that burn up. They live in the Atmosphere. Also could be a meteor which is the surface of a planet or moons. Well they live in space too as a meteorite.
Comet
Comets are snowballs of frozen gases that is 12 miles, 20 km, in diameter. A comet has 2 parts to it a head, which is in front of the tail ad normally dissolves as it gets closer to the sun, and a tail, which once it gets closer to the sun it stretches out. it takes 76 earth days for a comet to orbit the sun. One of the examples is the Hale-bopp and it was discovered the day of July 23, 1995.
Dwarf Planet
A dwarf planet is dominated by ice with a diameter of 1,471 miles. it takes it 905,801 days for it to orbit the sun and make a year. One example is the most famous, Pluto, It was discovered the day of February 18, 1930.
