Family Engagement
Family Engagement Input: Please complete the Family Engagement Survey found at the QR Code.
Community Input Opportunity: As you are aware, Avon CSD has had to take a deep dive into the name the Avon Braves. With this work, we have to begin to look closely at our current positive behavior system, the "Braves Way". Over the past few months we have been working with various stakeholder groups to determine our core values. The purpose is to help define what our students, staff families, and communities core values are to establish a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm.
We are writing to invite you to participate in this work on Thursday December 14 at 6:00 in the Middle School Library. Your input will provide our team valuable insight in identifying values that are meaningful to you and our community.
Congratulations... Another Great Performance of Scrooge!
Thank you for your support with the Veterans Day 5K!
Thanks to your support, we were able to raise over $1100 to donate to the Livingston County Veterans Services! We also collected food donations. Thank you to all who helped!

UPK-4 Information
Winter Playground: Our students will continue to have the opportunity to go out to the playground after lunch each day. During the next few months, as the temperatures continue to get colder, please be mindful of appropriate cold weather gear as students head out each morning to go to school. The playground time for students can vary each day depending on the temperatures, but they are typically outside for at least 15-20 minutes. If you have any questions regarding this, or need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.
Roller Skating Party: We hosted our first roller skating party for students in grades 3 & 4 on November 6. Students had a wonderful time rolling around the gym to their favorite tunes. The Taylor Swift songs were a big hit. We will be hosting another skating party for our first and second graders in January and then another one for our UPK and kindergarten students in June.
Lost and Found: There are a number of items (sweatshirts, lunchboxes, shirts, and jackets) that have been collected throughout the buildings. In the elementary school, these items can be found outside the cafeteria. We encourage labeling of clothing items so it is easier to match up lost items with students.
Book Fair: The Elementary Book Fair is December 4-8. Parents are welcome to come shop during open evening hours. Students will have the opportunity to visit and create wishlists (no obligation to purchase items on a wishlist). Payment can be made via: e-wallet, cash, checks (payable to: AVON PTA). Please include 8% sales tax with all payments.
Grades 5-8 Information
November and December's quarterly values are kindness & gratitude. Prior to the Thanksgiving recess students participated in the creation of a kindness/gratitude tree. On colorful leaves, students wrote acts of kindness that they either have experienced or seen, wrote something they are grateful for or something that they can do to support someone. This tree will be displayed in the cafeteria as a visual reminder for students and staff to be kind and take care of one another and to show our gratitude.
The “Artist of the Month” is an award that is earned by showing positive character traits, such as responsibility, being respectful and showing great effort in art. Every month, Mrs. Howard recognizes students enrolled in each of her art classes. Congratulations to the students who received November’s Artist of the Month Awards. recognition.
