National Day of Remembrance
For the Quebec City Mosque Victims
Join a digital solidarity letter writing opportunity, designed to focus on “instant” change making!
What letter writing means for students/educators:
Islamophobia.io is a digital “outreach” platform driven by Muslims and allies, to reduce prejudice and Islamophobia. Outreach is shown through written stories that act as agents of change for the public to learn from. Said stories foster understanding, reduce prejudice, and Islamophobia.
- Letter writing is a chance for students “to do something” about Islamophobia, instead of just hearing about it.
- Students will make “instant” change in the world by submitting a letter. Student voices matter.
- Letters make a statement of expressing solidarity and standing with the victims of this heinous terrorist attack.
- Letter writing is resistance against Islamophobia.
- Letter writing will highlight this day of Remembrance for the victims and highlight the dangers of Islamophobia.
- Students can get creative. Letters can be written in any style, e.g. a poem, story, script, etc.
But it’s time-sensitive! We need letter submissions before January 29th!
All letters are digital and will live on Islamophobia.io
