Definition
Genital Herpes is a sexually transmitted disease caused by herpes in the genital area.
How is it transmitted?
It is transmitted by vaginal, oral, or anal sex or from unprotected sex.
Symptoms?
- itching
- painful sores
- red bumps
- flu-like symptoms
- headache
- fever
How is it treated?
By going to a doctor. A doctor can an antiviral medication.
Problems?
- It can reactive-vate it self
- there is no cure.
- It can increase the risk of HIV infection.
Prevention?
- Abstinence
- Use a condom during sex (vaginal, oral, or anal)
- Condoms don't always work
