Principal's Den
I hope your families are doing well and staying safe. Thank you for your continued support during distance learning. I want to thank our staff for all of their hard work and the passion to give our students everything they can.
Shoutout to Destiny de la Cruz from Ms. Magallanes's class for being selected as our Shining Brighter student of the week last week. Our students are outstanding and there are many that have been nominated by their teachers. I read their names during the morning announcements.
This week is National School Lunches week. Our nutrition services has a special treat planned for you on Friday as well so I hope you'll be able to drive-thru for your lunch.
This Friday we will have a special monthly recognition assembly planned for our September students of the month, PBIS award winners, and AVID award winners. Your teachers and Ms. Dahlman, our school counselor will be contacting those families with more details.
On Wednesday we have a special visit during grab n go lunch from MagicLand dental. We have received notice that the Toothfairy usually accompanies Magicland Dental on these special visits.
We are nearing the end of the first trimester on October 30th. October 30th is a minimum day. We will not have instruction after 12pm. The Kindergarten afternoon group will meet in the morning on the 30th.
Thank you,
At Cloverdale we strive to be Leaders by Example. As I mention to our students during announcements, this means that we always try to do the right thing even when no one is looking.
As part of our school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), we also learn to ROAR. This is a matrix that exemplifies our core values of being Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible.
We also know that a FAIL is only a First Attempt in Learning and that we learn best from our mistakes. When someone makes a mistake we say "It's Cool!"
Sincerely,
Genaro García

TK-2nd-Having Empathy
Having empathy means you can feel and understand how someone else feels.
Understanding how someone feels can help you be a good friend.
3rd-5th - Ending Stereotypes
Stereotype-to believe unfairly that all people or things with a particular characteristic are the same.
Thinking for yourself is important.
Stereotypes are limiting.
Everything is for everyone.
People don’t always match stereotypes and It’s problematic to judge people by their group membership.
We can develop and practice strategies for thinking in non-stereotyped ways.
