What's Buzzin' at Bryant
Week of August 1, 2022
A Message from Mrs. Johnson
Hello Bryant families,
Welcome Back to School!
Our first day is quickly approaching. August 8th will be here before you know it.
As we prepare for a smooth start to the school year, please be sure to read the bulletin for any/all pertinent information. It is our goal to reduce the amount of paper we consume therefore, paper flyers or memos will rarely be sent home with students. The bulletin will be shared via Bryant's FB page, Class Dojo, and email. All pertinent information for each week will be posted in the bulletin.
This year, class lists will be posted in the front of the school on August 5 at approximately 3:00 pm. Class lists are created in collaboration with the teacher(s) from the previous grade level. Students academic needs as well as social emotional well-being is considered when making placements. Please be advised that in the event a parent would like to request classroom change, you will need to visit the front office to complete a request form. Change requests will not be considered until after the 2nd or 3rd week of school. It is necessary for time to be allowed to ensure class numbers are stabilized before making any adjustments to classes.
We will also be posting the lists of those students who have applied to and were approved for the HEARTS program. HEARTS will begin August 9, 2022.
Bryant's parent groups have always been "small but mighty". We are always looking for ways to engage in our parents in the educational process. Please be sure to join our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and/or School Site Council (SSC). Our wonderful group of parents need your support, ideas, and hands to continue to provide fun and engaging experinces for the Bryant students. More information on how to join each parent group will be forthcoming.
Once again, we are looking foward to seeing everyone back on campus. Enjoy the rest of your summer break! As always, BEE fantastic, BEE great, BEE the difference!

RUSD Dress Code
A diverse group of RUSD students and staff convened this year to update the RUSD dress code policy. Input from parents was gathered as well. Parents and students have the ultimate responsibility of grooming. However, the role of the school site is to ensure student dress does not interfere with the health or safety of a student, and does not contribute to a hostile or intimidating learning environment.
Please see the graphics below. You may also see Board Policy 5132 or refer to the RUSD Parent/Student Handbook.

Parking during drop off and pick up
- During drop off and pick up, please do not park your car in the white curbed loading/unloading zone in the front of the school on 3rd Street. This impacts the ability of those parents that must drop their children off quickly and continue on their way.
- Do not park your car in the "red zone" on Pine or Cedar. Even if you are sitting in your car, parking enforcement or RPD may issue you a ticket.
- Do not park your car in a manner that impedes cross walks or the driveways of our local residents.
- Do not stop your vehicle in the middle of street to drop students off or pick them up. This is a very unsafe practice that we observe frequently. In addition to being unsafe, it impacts the flow of traffic for other drivers. Pull over to the curb.
- Trash pick up day in the community is Thursday. Please do not park your vehicle in a manner that impacts the ability of the waste management company to access the trash cans of our local residents.
- Street sweeping day is Friday. Please be sure to observe the signs related to the weekly rotation.
- PACK YOUR PATIENCE and be respectful to other drivers and pedestrians.
22-23 Suggested School Supply List - By grade level
Gate Entry / Dismissal- Where do we go?
This year, we will only be utilizing the 3rd and Pine Street gates at the start of the school day. Students will be dismissed out of the 4th Street gate at the END of the school day only (see below). To ensure we are able to connect a student with a parent, TK/K students will continue to be dismissed through the MPR doors at the end of the school day. For the first few weeks it will take time for teachers to identify parents. Please be patient as this process is to ensure the safety of your child.
Please be aware entry/dismissal gates are subject to change. If there is a need to do so, the community will be notified prior to the change. Thank you so much!
