Important Dates & Reminders
Please be sure your child has a book in their backpack to read in the mornings. Remember we can not discuss student behavior or academic grades over the internet.
I encourage you to bring a healthy snack every day that can be eaten in approximately 15 minutes. Please keep in mind that snacks that have minimal clean up are the best. Please note that candy, cakes, and greasy or finger-coloring chips are not permitted. Acceptable snacks include crackers, pretzels, string cheese, raisins, fruit or veggies, etc.
Show your parents notes sent home in your daily, red plastic folder and return it every day.
Please review the papers with your child and sign any papers below a 75 and return only those papers (keep the others please).
If arrangements have been made to come for morning tutoring, please remember to send a note with your child so they will be allowed to come down to the classroom early.

Transportation changes: If you are going to change the way your child goes home, we must have the note before 2:00 on the day of the change. Since my conference period is first thing in the morning, please call the front desk and they will call into my room. If you send me an email in the afternoon (after lunch), I won't see it until after school.
Absences: If your child is absent please send a note the following day with the student’s name, date and reason for absence.
“Responding to Parent E-mails… We understand that e-mailing the teacher is a form of communication that parents often use. Please know that teachers have a 24 hour time frame to respond to parent e-mails and phone calls. As directed by campus administration, Harris teachers are not to respond to parent e-mails until after the instructional day is over- after 3:15 p.m. If the response to the e-mail involves information about student behavior, academics, or other confidential concerns, the teacher will call the parent in lieu of an e-mail. If you have an emergency or information that the teacher must receive during the school day, you are advised to call the school and leave a message.”
