GR. 4 - VISITS THE WHEELOCK FAMILY THEATER!!
THANK YOU JOHNSON CULTURAL ARTS/PTO
The fourth graders had a wonderful experience at the Wheelock Family Theater on Friday, April 30th. They attended a performance of Bud, Not Buddy, a show based on the historical fiction novel by Christopher Paul Curtis. In the magic of live theater, a small cast rotated into a variety of depression-era characters around the boy Bud as he searched for his long-lost father. A number of fourth graders are reading (or have recently read) the book or the accompanying novel, The Mighty Miss Malone. What a joy to see these characters come to life!
They were lucky enough to have comfortable weather for an al fresco lunch in Boston on the Christian Science plaza. While there, the fourth graders took a tour of the Mapparium, the three-story glass globe built in the 1930's that is housed in the Mary Baker Eddy Library. It was a special additional treat and a fun and interesting way to end the week.

Principal's Message
Dear Johnson Families,
Last Thursday, our third and fourth grade students in Peace Makers provided two amazing performances (morning for the entire school and evening for the Johnson Community Family and Friends). This year’s theme was “Tools and Teamwork Make the Dreamwork. The Johnson Peace Makers put on impressive performances. Our students sang with confidence and delivered powerful messages of agency, building character, empowerment, growth, hope, and so many possibilities for their future.
We want to acknowledge and thank Ms. Jennifer D’Antonio and Ms. Rhonda Garvin Conaway for providing excellent direction, inspiration, and leadership during the weekly Thursday rehearsals, as well as the December Holiday Tour and these two powerful performances. And thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, siblings, caregivers, and friends who attended the performances in support of our students. It is very much appreciated! Please see photos below.
