Yearbook Update
Hey Jaguars,
I want to thank you all for your patience in regards to yearbooks and give you an update. The plant where the yearbooks are printed had to close for five weeks due to COVID-19. As you may have heard, our yearbooks will not arrive in California until the end of June, possibly early July (they would have been here two weeks ago). This news is crushing to the publications students who have worked super hard to make an amazing book of memories from this year. In the meantime, we would like to share with you a quick video of the yearbook pages. It cannot possibly replace the actual book we have created but it is a fun way to reveal our theme and share our year together. We will send a message through the email your parents used for purchase when the yearbooks have arrived and let you know how to pick them up.
HERE is the link to the video.
HERE is the cover!
Also, we have found a way to do a digital signing. You can do this with one of the Google Applications then print the pages and glue them/tape them into your yearbook once you get it. Here's a link to a presentation on how to do this with Google Keep.
In the meantime, here are answers to a few commonly asked questions:
1) Did I buy a yearbook? Please check out the attached list to find your name. If your name is on the list, you did purchase a yearbook.
2) Can I still purchase a yearbook? Yes, yearbooks are still being sold at yearbookordercenter.com. At the time this letter was written, there are only 25 books left.
3) What if I am not going to be available to pick up my yearbook when it arrives? You have two options, you will be able to pick up your yearbook at any time during the 2020-2021 school year during school business hours. The second option would be to email Mrs. Hamon with the name of a person you would like to pick up your yearbook on your behalf.
Please contact me if you have any other questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hamon

Summer Opportunities
1. Virtual Summer Program for Middle School Girls
Looking for something to do over the summer? Interested in learning more about government and public policy? Look no further than the LegislateHER Virtual Summer Camp!
LegislateHER is a Girl Scout Gold Award project that aims to decrease gender disparities in politics by hosting various programs for middle school girls. This summer we will be hosting virtual summer camps. The first summer camp will take place on Tuesday, June 23rd through Thursday, June 25th from 4:00 to 5:30 each day. The camps will be taking place over Zoom. Campers will participate in a wide variety of activities such as governing a model city, having mock legislative sessions on bipartisan issues, learning about the importance of women in government, and more. The camp is free of charge and open to girls that will be in 6th-8th grade in the fall. All students that complete the 3 days of virtual camp will receive a sticker and patch. To learn more about the camp and sign up, fill out this form or visit https://tinyurl.com/legislateher-camp. If you have any questions please feel free to email legislateher@gmail.com.
Best, Celeste Paapanen and LegislateHER.
2. Grizzly Greetings
Our leadership program at California High School put
together this activity for grizzlies to communicate with one another over the
summer and we wanted to include your 8th graders. It is a pen pal activity and
if you could let them all know that would be great. I am going to attach the
link to the google form for them to sign up. Link:
