Position Announcement: K-12 Fine Arts Teacher
Wrangell Public Schools is accepting applications for the following positions for the 2018-2019 School Year:
K-12 Fine Arts Teacher: This is a full-time teaching position providing a K-12 art program. The applicant must have the ability to develop an appreciation of art in every student so that every student recognizes their own creativity to express themselves and enhance their environment.
A current Alaska Teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsements in Art is required. Multiple endorsements are preferred. Wrangell Public Schools is accepting applications for the position of:
Custodian: This is a 12-month position with benefits paid on Column F of the Classified Personnel Salary Schedule. Responsibilities include assisting the maintenance director with repairs and maintenance of the buildings, keeping our school complex clean and assisting with setting up rooms for classes, large presentations and business meetings as needed.

IEA Director Position
Wrangell Public Schools is accepting applications for the 2019-2020 School Year:
Indian Education Director: This is a part-time position coordinating and administering the Indian Education Program; preparing budgets, and proposals, and completing the bookkeeping required of the position. Applicant must have working knowledge of needs assessments and the evaluation process and must be able to work with the parent committee and school administration. The Position is paid on Column E of the Classified Salary Schedule.

2019-2020 Student Representative to the School Board
Letter of Interest and Resume due Monday, May 13, 2019.
Wrangell Public School Board is looking for students who are currently in 9th-11th grade who are interested in serving as a student representative on the school board next school year.
Please refer to Draft Board Policy 7124 for a list of eligibility requirements, responsibilities and guidelines.
High School Credit will be awarded at 1 credit per year upon successful completion of duties.
Letters of interest and a resume can be submitted to Mrs. Powell at the district office.

Youth Employment Services
The Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of AK administers the Youth Employment Services (YES) program to assist tribal youth (ages 14-21) to obtain summer employment. As stated, "the intent of this program is to encourage self-sufficiency and assist youth in discovering career/education pathways while learning employment skills."
