What's New This Week?

Accelerated Reader (AR) Expectations for 4th Grade

Starting this month, all fourth grade students are expected to take a minimum of two Accelerated Reader (AR) quizzes each month on books they've read, While students may read a variety of types of books, our expectation is that they are reading chapter novels, within their individual book level ranges, and then taking the AR comprehension quizzes on those books. All AR quizzes are to be taken at school.

Monthly Poem

"If You Were"

If you were busy being kind,

Before you knew it, you would find

You’d soon forget to think ‘twas true

That someone was unkind to you.

If you were busy being glad

And cheering people who were sad,

Although your heart may ache a bit,

You’d soon forget to notice it

If you were busy being good

And doing the best you could,

You’d not have time to blame some man

Who’s doing just the best he can.

If you were busy being right,

You’d find yourself too busy quite

To criticize your neighbor long

Because she’s busy being wrong.

Test date: Thursday, October 29th
