Denfeld and Duluth East High School graduating seniors visited all ISD 709 elementary schools plus Lincoln Park Middle School for a “Senior Walk” in the hallways. Seniors wore their caps and gowns to celebrate and to be role models for the younger students. Thanks to all who shared their photos and video!

Denfeld Students Receive PEO Star, Chick Evans Scholarships
Mya Halvorson is a recipient of the prestigious PEO STAR Scholarship, awarded for excellence in academics, leadership, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success. PEO Duluth Chapter DD recommended Mya for the scholarship, which will be applied to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities where she plans to study Political Science, Education and Spanish.
Jacob Johnson has been awarded the Chick Evans Scholarship which provides full tuition and housing for four-years to specific colleges. Jacob will apply his scholarship to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities to study Business and Marketing. The scholarship is named in honor of legendary amateur golfer, Chick Evans, whose charitable legacy was to send deserving caddies to college. The Northland Country Club in Duluth nominated Jacob for this prestigious award.
Duluth East National Honor Society (NHS) collected donations of clothing for all genders and sizes, including dresses, skirts, dress shirts, dress pants, ties, shoes, blazers, and suit jackets. The group hopes this dress wear closet will meet several needs including clothing for job and scholarship interviews, music concerts, athletic events and any school sponsored activities.
Alworth Scholarship recipients from Duluth East High School -- Kathryn Brinkert, Natalie Daly, Anna Mayou, Haley Montgomery, and Samson Ward.
2018-19 Birchen Award Winners - Joseph Anderson, Katherine Carlson, Emma Hannu, Oliver Hasler, Britta Jones, Richard Lyle Jr, Kaleb Rock, Cassandra Sepp, Lauren Skar, Finnegan White.

Free Meals for Children: 2019 Summer Breakfast & Lunch Program
Funded by the US Department of Agriculture, meals are provided to children 18 years of age and under without charge; adults accompanying their children can purchase a breakfast for $2.50 or lunch for $4.50.
No paperwork necessary, just show up for good food and friendly service!
Menus include a variety of items - hot entrees, salads, sandwiches, vegetables, fruits, bread, milk. Specific menus will be available online shortly before June 11.
Meals served June 11 – August 23, 2019 (No service July 4).
Breakfast: 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM
Lunch: 11:30 AM to 1:00PM
