The schedule for curriculum night is:
5:00-5:15: Principal Welcome and Introductions/Related Service and Specialist
5:15-6:00: PK/K Curriculum presentation with teachers via zoom
6:00-6:45: Grade 1 Curriculum presentation with teachers via zoomArrival and Dismissal Reminders
Car Arrival Reminders
The car drop off begins at 8:15.
ALL cars dropping off students MUST ENTER FROM MAIN STREET! PLEASE pull over to the RIGHT side of the road and in the waiting line! Pulling over to the right allows the through traffic to continue, especially the BUSES. We know the line is long. We have close to 100 Kindergarten and First Grade students being dropped off between 8:15-8:25.
We BEG for your patience. Our goal is to have a safe orderly drop off line.
You can help keep our students safe and expedite the process by having your student on the driver's side of the car if possible. This allows for a quicker exit, once a staff member opens the door. Please remember to have all your goodbyes complete and backpacks ready when the door opens. We ask that parents please remain in the car and allow the staff to open the door for your child. For safety reasons, please do not allow your child to exit the vehicle without staff present. IF your child is struggling to separate and needs your extra love, it is okay to pull through the car line, park your car and support your child's needs. Then when they are ready, you can walk them to the door!
For Kindergarten and First Grade families, if there is no car line AND it is past 8:25, please park in the lot across the street from the school and walk them to the front office door to sign in. PK drop off begins at 8:25. PK families must park and walk their child to the door for drop off.
You can not enter the car line from the Tinkham Road entrance. This is a safety issue. It is also unfair to those who are waiting patiently in line to drop off their child. Please respect the car line drop off procedures. We know EVERYONE needs to be someplace after dropping off their child.
Mr. Dave, our amazing Custodian, will be directing the drop off line while we establish the routine for the new school year! Make sure you wave and say Good Morning!
Car Dismissal Reminders
We dismiss more than 100 students in the car line daily. Please remember to be patient and follow the process so it is safe and efficient.
A flag signaling system alerts you to which grade level is being dismissed. Cars must enter via Main Street and WAIT on the right hand side of the road out of the flow of traffic until your child’s grade level flag is displayed.
Car line dismissal begins with PreK students.
The PK flag is RED. Dismissal for PK starts at 2:25.
The K flag is WHITE. Dismissal for Kindergarten should start at 2:37.
The first grade flag is BLUE. Dismissal for First grade should start by 2:47.
Based on parent feedback, the flag will be moved so it is more visible to the road.
Please do not enter the parking lot until the appropriate flag is flying. If you enter earlier, it is likely your child is ready for dismissal and you will have to go to the end of the line. Please know that timing is influenced and affected by many variables that can delay or speed up this process. Also remember, dismissal time at the beginning of the year always takes longer. We all need time to establish the routines. We beg for your patience and understanding.
The first wave of Kindergarten students should be loading into cars by 2:37. We have revised our indoor procedure to ensure we meet that goal. It is our hope that we will be able to dismiss all Kindergarten students and start loading First Student no later than 2:47. Please pay attention to the dismissal flag. It will indicate when we have first graders checked in and ready for dismissal.
Have your Dismissal Car Tag Visible in the front driver side window or door. This helps our caller radio the escorts to get your child. If the caller can not see your tag or does not know your car yet, it slows the process. Our goal is to be finished with car line dismissal by 3:00. If everyone does their part, we can achieve this goal together! Thank you in advance for making this possible.
