Nixa High Students Awarded Scholarships at Nixa Chamber Meeting
At today's Nixa Chamber meeting, four Nixa High School Students were awarded the following scholarships:
Abigail Moore received the Glenn and Kay Scott Scholarship 🦅
Carter Hackley & Morgan Allen received the 2022 Sucker Day King and Queen Scholarship from the Nixa Chamber 👑
Devin Rylie received the Rotary Club of Nixa Scholarship 📚
Nixa Summer School Update 5/12
As we near our wrap-up of summer school planning, due to high enrollment numbers, K-6 available spots will be limited.
As buildings reach student/teacher capacity home school placements will not be guaranteed as of 5/16/22 end of day. In the instance of placement at another school, district transportation will not be available.

Nixa Welcomes Devon Harris, Jamaican Bobsled Team Olympian
Devon Harris | Thursday, May 19
Devon Harris will be at Nixa High School commons on Thursday, May 19 at 6 p.m.
He is a member of the first Jamaican bobsled team which competed in the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary, Canada. Their exploits inspired the Disney blockbuster movie Cool Runnings. Devon also competed in and was captain of the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, France and the 1998 Games in Nagano, Japan.

Cool Runnings Private Showing at B&B Theatres | Monday, May 16
Join us for a private showing of the movie Cool Runnings on May 16 at 7 p.m. at the B&B Theatres in Ozark.

Nixa's SCORE program celebrates 500th graduate
NIXA, Mo. - The Nixa School District is celebrating the 500th graduate of its alternative school called SCORE. SCORE, which stands for Second Chance of Receiving an Education, is a program for students at risk of not graduating. Seniors had a graduation celebration and banquet Tuesday afternoon.
Nixa High School's Aetos Center for the Performing Arts announces inaugural season
The Aetos Center for the Performing Arts - located on the campus of Nixa High School - announced its opening season Tuesday. The center was the centerpiece of the district's successful 2019 bond issue. From the beginning, it was described as a state-of-the-art facility for school productions as well as a community center to bring national acts to the Nixa area.

Missouri's plan to increase teacher pay to $38K raises questions for districts
Missouri districts with low starting pay can apply for a grant from the state to bump their minimum teacher salary to $38,000 but the request is voluntary, requires a local match, and the state funds are not guaranteed after next year. All the variables have even the most appreciative district leaders proceeding slowly and with caution.

Nixa Wrestling's Zan Fugitt Won a Spot on the U17 USA World Team
Nixa Wrestling's Zan Fugitt competed at USA Wrestling's World Team Trials in Las Vegas April 28-May 1, & won a spot on the U17 USA World Team!
Fugitt won the 60kg Greco-Roman title to earn his spot & will now compete at the World Championships in July.
