Weekly Warrior Update
Student Focused-World Class
Word for the Warrior...REMINDER...
Dear Sevier Families,
As I'm sure you are aware, there have been many conversations lately on both a national and local level regarding safety and ways we can make our schools as secure as possible. For quite some time, one key tool in the KCS safety plan has been the use of the Raptor system, which scans the identification of all visitors to our schools and cross-references those ID's with offender databases. Raptor then alerts administration and staff before visitor entry into the school can be granted, allowing for a proactive addressing of potential situations before they occur.
As part of our efforts to always improve safety, upgrades to the Raptor system have taken place over Spring Break, which will go into effect when schools reopen next week. One side-effect of this system upgrade is that all visitors to schools will have to have their identification re-scanned when visiting schools starting next week, even if you have been previously scanned into the system. We realize this may cause an inconvenience, but hope you will agree with us that it is worth it to have an improved Raptor system in place for the safety of our students and staff.
We just wanted to make you aware of this prior to school starting back next week so you would not be surprised. As always, we thank you for your support of our schools and the ways we try to ensure the safest possible learning environment. Have a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing you at school on Monday.
