Student Device Expectations

With this unusual start to the school year, Horizon Science Academy Administration would like to remind students and families of some of our online expectations.

-All virtual and online sessions will be recorded.

-School devices should only be used by HSA Students and only for approved school work.

-All devices have GOGaurdian software. This allows us to see what each device is being used for, and view device screens.

-Student comments in Google Classroom and other platforms should be school appropriate and educationally professional. HSA will not tolerate any cyber bullying, posting of inappropriate materials, or any other action that is disruptive to learning

-Discipline action or removal or school devices will be taken if students and families are unable to follow the above expectations

We look forward to continuing to serve and educate our wonderful HSA students and families. If you are experiencing any educational or technology issues, please contact us at (614) 428- 6564

Student Extracurricular Opportunities

We are excited to present two extracurricular opportunities for our students. These programs will allow students to become well-rounded individuals by creating new interest and diversifying their experiences outside of the classroom. Students may participate in one or both of the following programs. Programs will be online during this time. Students will need to complete an interest survey located on their Homeroom Google Classroom page.

1. Concept Young Scholar Program (CYSP) Deadline September 9th (Flyer below)

2. Peace it Together (Girl Scouts Program) Deadline September 9th

  • more information on this program will be shared in the coming weeks

Community Resources

As we continue to educate our students remotely, we understand that some families depend on school meals as the primary source of nutriment. Columbus City Schools is providing meals to anyone under the age of 18 starting Wednesday September 9th, 2020. On your first visit you will be given a Meal Pickup Access Card to use at that location throughout the program. It is encouraged that you choose the location closest to your home
