3rd-5th grade Kentucky Bluegrass Nominees
"The Kentucky Bluegrass Award is a student choice program. The KBA promotes and encourages Kentucky students in Kindergarten through grade 12 to read a variety of quality literature." Students will read the books for their grade level then rate the books to determine a winner. I have introduced the 3rd-5th grade classes to the ten books that have been nominated for the Kentucky Bluegrass Awards (KBA). The books can be check out and can be found on the cart, in the library, right in front of my computer. Once a student finishes one of the books and returns it to the library they can get a ballot and rate the book. I will count all the ballots in March and turn it into the KBA committee in March. 3th-5th grade teachers, if you want to read one, or more, of the KBA books as a read aloud you may check them out too. Then each student in your class will be able to rate the book. I have attached a slide presentation below that introduces all the books. The students have already seen the presentation during library specials but I am attaching it here for you to view if you would like.
