Spring Conferences
Dear Wentworth Families,
While you are welcome to request to meet with a teacher regarding your child’s progress at any time throughout the year, Wentworth designates time as a school in the fall and spring to offer formal conferences. This year, Spring Conferences will be held between March 29 - April 9. We find these conferences to be valuable, and an opportunity to learn more about your child’s progress in addition to their work in SeeSaw and teachers’ individual communications that occur throughout the year. We look forward to meeting with you.
This year, with an emphasis on health and safety, all conferences will be virtual. Our staff have a few available formats to use: Zoom, Google Meets virtual conferencing, or telephone conferences. In the past, ALL staff have used Conference Manager by SchoolSoft to schedule conferences. This year, using this tool is an option for teachers. In these unique circumstances, our goal is to accommodate families and allow this flexibility of sign up and format. We ask that regardless of how you sign up for a conference for your child, that you please coordinate between parents/guardians the date/time that works best for both of you to meet together.
Attached you will find instructions to create an account (or use an account you have already created) to log on to Conference Manager scheduling system where you may select dates and times that are convenient for you and your family. Registration for conferences will begin on Monday March 15 at 6:00 am and will stay open until March 23 at 6PM. Once you have completed your requests, an email confirmation will be sent to you. If your child’s teacher is using a different sign up method, you will hear from him/her directly about how to sign up for a mutually convenient time.
Please sign up for a conference with your child’s homeroom teacher
We encourage you to also sign up to meet with one or more Allied Arts teachers
Additionally, please sign up with your child’s case manager, math/literacy support teacher and/or student advocate; they are looking forward to discussing your child’s progress toward their goals!
If your child’s teacher(s) are using Conference Manager, here is the link for parents to register click here or copy and paste this address to your browser: https://scarboroughschools.schoolsoft.com/login.jsf.
If you do not have computer access or have questions regarding this process, please contact Monique Gorey at 730-4609 from 8:00 – 3:00, Monday-Friday. Our teachers are available by telephone or email if you have questions or have a unique scheduling situation. Thank you for your continued support; we are looking forward to the opportunity to discuss your child’s successes and goals together!
Sincerely,
Kelli Crosby

WENTWORTH SCHOOL COMMUNITY GARDEN ANNUAL BULB & FLOWER SALE March 8- April 16th
Help us grow our garden by growing yours!
We need a new greenhouse!
The Wentworth School Garden has been focused on helping our community this past season. We donated 90% of all the produce we harvested to food insecure families and pantries. Our goal this upcoming season is to continue to donate and hopefully we can return to integrating our curriculum with hands-on learning for most subjects. These include but are not limited to literacy, social studies, math, cooking and nutrition, community services, science and guiding principles.
This spring/summer we will:
Install a new and larger greenhouse (12 x 30)
Relocate some existing raised beds
Plant berry crops
Continue to provide food for the local food pantries as well as our school.
Improve bird habitat
Flower Power provides a way for you to receive plants, shrubs, and/or bulbs for your yard and garden shipped directly to your home. We receive 50% of your total purchase amount. Thanks for your support!
YOU CAN ORDER DIRECTLY ONLINE by accessing the following website:

Safety Tip of the Week
Next week we will practice a Virtual Lockdown Simulation.
We teach and practice three types of safety drills regularly throughout the year: Evacuation, Hold in Place, and Lock Down Drills. Here is a communication for families, describing each of these types of safety practice. This year, given our learning model and COVID precautions, some of our practice will look a little bit different. For instance, instead of physically moving within a space to practice a lockdown scenario, students and teachers will watch a brief video created by the school leaders, and then discuss the steps to take in a real emergency via a simulation. This way, students and staff will feel prepared, but will still be able to maintain physical distancing.
This year, due to the pandemic, educators have had to rethink everything we do at school, right down to how we practice for emergencies. Your kids are amazing! They go with the flow, practice flexible thinking, and follow all of the guidelines established. Thank you for your support and engagement!
