Cool Cat Family Newsletter
August 28-September 1
Cool Cat Nation,
I know sometimes when our kids get home from school and we ask them what they learned they sometimes say "I don't know!" (or at least my three boys do:)- each week in the brief I will add some things students are working on which can help start academic conversations for you at home.
Pre-K, KIndergarten and 1st grade have started the "morning message" and have read many good books this week as well as started setting up procedures and routines. 2nd grade students began setting up writing notebooks in Writer's Workshop. In math they will learn and review place value concepts to 1,200. In third grade, students are beginning to learn how diverse individuals have changed their communities and the world. Students will learn how the founding fathers ideas and actions changed not only the lives of the colonists, but the destiny of a new country. 4th grade spent time learning about how their brain works to control their emotions and actions.
It is a privilege to watch your kids learn and grow every day!
Thanks,
Shawna Ballast #proudprincipal #hartmanpride
